The world is noisy.
In the midst of all of the chaos and crazy, the to-do lists, the laundry piles, the emails, phone calls, texts, appointments, meetings, looming deadlines, and empty coffee cups, life can start to disappear.
When we find ourselves in a constant state of hurry, movement, and activity, our minds and bodies become burdened with stress and overwhelm. We don’t process clearly and we fall prey to exhaustion. Taking even just a few minutes out of each day to recharge and refocus helps to recenter our thoughts and our energy. So that we can revive our minds, bodies, and spirits.
Think about the last time you were awake, alone, and quiet. If you’re having trouble remembering when, this is a perfect time to make space for you to get quiet.
Today’s intention is to set aside five minutes to just be.
Find a space to be alone.
Begin to let go of any stress you might be feeling and surrender to the silence around you.
Become aware of each breath, and let go of the tension in your body as you inhale and exhale. Begin to release thoughts that are weighing you down or causing you stress.
After you have completed this exercise, slowly ease back into the day.
When you set intentions for getting quiet and relieving the noise from your day, you are giving yourself a space to breathe and lean into a less hurried pace and slower rhythms that remind us to be present. To stop and smell the flowers.
To be still.
